guidance: no matter what kind
of criminal charge you face
in minnesota

In our state, criminal offenses are divided into misdemeanors and felony offenses based on the severity of the alleged crime. Misdemeanors in Minnesota are considered less severe crimes – but do not let that give you a false sense of security. You can still face up to three months in jail if you are convicted and must pay thousands of dollars in fines and other court-related costs. Gross misdemeanors are more significant and can send you to jail for up to one year upon conviction and even more in fines than a misdemeanor.

The penalties for felonies are even harsher. Unlike some other states, Minnesota does not have a standardized classification system for felony crimes. Instead, every felony has unique penalties associated with it if convicted, which means each felony charge carries individual repercussions. Depending on what you get charged with, a conviction for a felony can land you in prison for decades – or even life – in addition to many other consequences for the rest of your life.

how can the attorneys at
wolfgram law firm help you
defend yourself?

Working with a skilled criminal lawyer is one of the smartest things you can do if you face charges. Our attorneys:

  • Ensure your legal rights are upheld at each step of the process.
  • Interact with law enforcement on your behalf when you are being investigated and with the prosecution when you get charged with a crime.
  • Prevent you from making any statements that can harm your case.
  • Play a key role in gathering evidence for a solid defense.
  • Act as a gatekeeper to keep the prosecution from admitting evidence gathered unlawfully.
  • Conduct a complete defense investigation when necessary

With their vast knowledge of the judicial system, our lawyers work to cast doubt on the prosecution’s argument, helping you achieve the best possible outcome in your case. Perhaps just as importantly, our lawyers offer a unique blend of kindness, common sense, and resourcefulness to help clients navigate this complex and emotionally charged legal space. We work not only to advocate for you but also to advise and educate you – so you can make clear decisions on matters that can be life-changing.
